As an avid outdoorsman and local business
owners, the residents of this property were tired of
waiting for vacations and weekend getaways to enjoy
the Rocky Mountain nature experience. What resulted
was a 60 foot long meandering stream with waterfalls
and a pond. Although the backyard was plenty large enough
to achieve the desired effects, large machinery access
was an issue. Luckily, there was plenty of boulders
on site, on top of and under the earth. After being
excavated, stored, washed and installed, the boulders
and rocks from the site helped to create a beautiful
water feature. To accompany the water feature, we also
built a network of paths, a lawn area w/ subsurface
drip irrigation, and a decorative concrete patio with
a brick seat-wall. Extensive planting and lighting followed.
When meeting with the owners one day when the project
was complete, two ducks flew down from the sky and landed
in the lower pond. As if that were not enough, the ducks
then performed an impressive mating ritual dance in
the glistening waters. We and the owners then agreed,
the project was a success! (There are additional fees
for duck mating rituals…please call Margo at the office
for details).
