This small back yard was transformed into four distinct usage areas: outdoor dining room, outdoor living room (with a fireplace bench), outdoor kitchen (which was constructed to support the existing overhead deck), and a small lawn area for the kids to play. The vertical masonry elements of the design help to maximize space, distinguish between the spaces, and provide seating opportunities throughout. The project also included outdoor lighting and irrigation. The lawn area is irrigated by subsurface drip system.
