Tom Sunderland, ASLA, Master of Landscape Architecture
Title: Owner & General Manager
After earning of BA in History and Geography from the University of Colorado-Boulder, Tom worked as a landscaper for Gold Lake Mountain Resort & Spa and various companies in and around Boulder. After earning his MLA degree from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2001 Tom founded Native Edge Associates Inc. Currently, Tom sits on the Board of Directors for the Pro Green EXPO, which is the region’s largest annual conference and trade show for the Green Industry.
Elizabeth Ochsner, Master of Landscape Architecture
Title: Design & Construction Sales Manager
After earning MLA from the University of Colorado-Denver in 1997, Elizabeth worked for several years as an associate at a Lafayette based community and parks planning firm, where she led teams through project design and construction documents for a number of large projects. She began working for Native Edge Associates in 2006 and since then has successfully designed and managed a diverse range of award winning projects, including residential historical landmarks, mountain estates, and multi-family residential.
Drew McGrail
Title: Operations Manager
Drew originally hails from Missouri, where he gained his first exposure to the landscaping industry working for a local nursery. Today, Drew possesses over 15 years experience in the landscape industry. He loves a good challenge and is passionate about transforming designs into built projects. Aside from implementing projects, Drew is a natural communicator and an effective team leader. One of Drew’s most memorable life experiences was his 3 months spent in New Orleans where he assisted with Katrina relief efforts.
Andrew deMoya, BA Geography & Environmental Science
Title: Project Manager
After leaving Wisconsin in 1998, Andrew headed west to the University of Colorado following the lure of the mountains and love of the outdoors. Having experience with both the Bureau of Land Management and also in the private sector, he has been involved in landscape construction for more than 10 years. Andrew’s interpersonal skills and acumen contribute to a productive and pleasant working experience.
Michelle Alexander, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Colorado Sate University
Title: Landscape Designer
After earning her BLA from Colorado Sate University in 2003, Michelle worked for several years as an associate at a Fort Collins based company designing parks,recreation and multifamily communities, where she led projects from design to construction documentation. Since 2008 Michelle has focused her design skills within the design/build industry, designing large scale residential projects to residential renovations.
Brett Williams
Title: Construction Manager
Originally from the Seattle, Washington area, Brett began his landscape career in 1996 as a grounds maintenance and irrigation technician for a golf course in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Since then, his love for the outdoors has made it an easy choice to continue developing his career in the landscape industry while living in some of the American west’s most beautiful places, including Bend, Oregon, Hawaii, and of the most beautiful of them all….. Boulder, Colorado! Brett’s extensive range of experience over 16 consecutive years in the industry makes him well suited to successfully manage the smallest to the most complex projects.
David Ellis
Title: Service Department Manager
Born and raised in Missouri City, Texas, David was introduced early on in life to a field in which he grew to love. With a Landscape Architect as a father, his passion for nature and landscape led him to follow in his father’s footsteps down a beautifully designed path to Native Edge. David has over 12 years of experience working for the family landscaping business, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience in many areas inlcuding horticulture and nursery operations.
Linda Martens
Title: Horticulture & Garden Enhancements
Linda has over 30 years experience working with plants. With 2 years of formal horticulture education Linda began working with plants as a floral designer in 1981. Years later, Linda began to apply her skills and knowledge to the landscape industry and began working toward certification as a Certified Landscape Technician in ornamental maintenance. With several years of experience in residential landscape maintenance and garden enhancement projects under her belt, today, Linda takes great pride in assisting our customers with garden and enhancement projects while working closely with both design and maintenance teams.
Margo Sizemore
Title: Office Manager
Margo joined the Native Edge team in 2007. Margo is responsible for successfully managing the office operations of the company. Her responsibilities include human resources, payroll, and various administrative and secretarial tasks. Margo makes it possible for other people to function efficiently.
